Graduation Requirements

It is the student’s responsibility to track their graduation progress and enroll in classes needed for their degree. Students are encouraged to check with the CCSC School Of Discipleship Office to be sure they are on track. For the Degree and Certificate of Completion programs, a minimum of 68 credits must be completed with a passing grade (C- or above). Graduation Worksheets are available in the CCSC School Of Discipleship Office. All financial obligations must be settled at the beginning of the semester in which the student intends to graduate and there is a small graduation fee.

Here are the Course Requirements for our 68 credit program:

Core Requirements:

A minimum of 41 credits must be completed by the following required courses:

Old Testament and New Testament Survey Courses: A minimum 12 credits must be completed with the Old Testament and New Testament Survey courses. These four 3 credit classes consist of a verse-by-verse study through the entire Bible taught by Pastor Chuck Smith.

Practical Christian Ministry: A minimum of 4 credits must be completed through these 4 classes. Each course is worth 1 credit. In each class, students are required to serve at their local fellowship for a minimum number of 4 hours each week. Students must enroll in these courses during 4 different semesters prior to graduation.

Church Attendance: A minimum of 4 credits must be completed through these 4 classes. Each course is worth 1 credit. In each class, students are required to attend their local fellowship for a minimum 1 service per week. Students must enroll in these courses during 4 different semesters prior to graduation.

Required Bible Courses: A minimum of 18 credits must be completed with required Bible classes. These include Genesis, John (3 credits), Acts (3 credits), Romans (3 credits), and Revelation (3 credits).

Theology Courses: A minimum of 3 credits must be completed with required Theology classes. These include Bibliology (3 credits).

Ministry Courses: A minimum of 6 credits must be completed with a required Ministry course. This could be Inductive Bible Study (3 credits), Self-Confrontation (3 credits) class.

To be eligible for graduation, a student must be enrolled in Old Testament / New Testament Survey, Practical Christian Ministry and Church Attendance each semester.

Elective Courses:

Electives: A minimum of 12 credits must be completed with other electives. Any class that is not a required class will count toward this requirement.

Degree Emphasis: The remaining 15 credits required for graduation are to be completed as part of a Degree Emphasis. We offer three emphasis.  Worship, Biblical Studies, Christian Leadership and Administration.

As part of the 68 credits needed for graduation, each student must participate in a short-term missions trip or evangelistic outreach prior to graduation.

It is the responsibility of the student to track his or her progress toward a degree through the use of the graduation worksheet available from the CCSC School Of Discipleship.
